About Us

Neighbors helping neighbors...

Windermere Vashon is a family-owned real estate agency whose brokers and agents are deeply knowledgeable about local properties and the island community.  Our office opened its doors in 1948, making us the island's oldest real estate brokerage. We've sold more homes than any other island realtor because we know the ins and outs of this unique market. We know the properties themselves, and we undertand the real estate issues particular to this rural landscape. Our brokers are local experts who are energetic, resourceful and responsive to our customer's needs.

But it takes more. Excellence in real estate can only be achieved with a deep connection to the community, and no one invests more in the Vashon-Maury Island community than Windermere Vashon.

We passionately support local schools, organizations, and events, with financial and volunteer support. From the start, a percentage of our profits are committed to giving back to island non-profits. We are interested in enhancing the lives of our elders and youth, supporting the arts on all levels, investing in our schools, protecting our pets and preserving our island's heritage.

Our team is personable, fun, and deeply rooted in Vashon’s unique lifestyle. And we enjoy sharing it with all customers, be they repeat clients, or newcomers who may soon call Vashon Island home.

Windermere Foundation

Every transaction makes a difference

Windermere's commitment to serving our communities goes beyond providing our buyers and sellers the best in real estate services. Every time a Windermere sales associate sells a home, a portion of the commission goes to the Windermere Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 1989. Contributions from Windermere agents combined with contributions from Windermere employees and the public have allowed the Windermere Foundation to distribute in excess of a million dollars annually in recent years to non-profit agencies dedicated to helping homeless and low-income families.

Housing is our business

Helping homeless and low-income families is a natural extension of our business. Non-profit agencies receiving Windermere Foundation dollars have furnished emergency and transitional housing, have subsidized costs for services such as health care, employment counseling, placement and training, day care, scholarships and much more.

Our work is not about houses. It's about people.

We're in the business of selling houses. But more importantly, we're helping people find a place they can call home. Our commitment to service extends beyond each real estate transaction. Annually The Windermere Vashon office contributes over $20,000 directly back into the local community through charitable contributions and donations in addition to the Foundation contributions. We believe in our community and giving back to it, that is the Windermere way.

Community Service Day

Every year our Windermere associates skip work for a day to complete island neighborhood improvement projects.

Not only is Community Service Day a great opportunity to give back to the island where we live and work, it also gives us a chance to work together. We clean, landscape and repair parks, playgrounds, schools, shelters, camps and community buildings. Each year we select a project that best serves our community needs. After all, our real estate business is rooted in our island; and an investment in it gives us all a better place to call home.
